The Importance of Asking the Right Questions, Self Improvement and Perception
By: Harrison Barnes

Career Mission's Chief Executive Officer, A. Harrison Barnes, in a webinar discussed how asking the right questions and perceiving life in the right manner, will eventually lead to immense self improvement.

Your perception of the world and your reaction to it, by and large determines your destiny. External factors do not. Having stated this, Harrison goes on to suggest that you must be conscientious as you encounter various conditions and circumstances in your life. Since your response is dictated by your emotional state, you must then work towards continual growth and improvement, which will eventually lead to appropriate and beneficial responses.

Positive responses evolve from positive emotions. Positive emotions result from a variety of factors. Not understanding the governing principles of your life, harboring the wrong beliefs, or asking yourself the wrong questions, will always give way to a negative outcome to a given situation. At this point Harrison states that one of the strongest governing principles is the law of order and disorder. Impermanence is the nature of life and the universe and the sooner you understand this fact, the better it is. Since you can do nothing to prevent or delay disorder, you must accept it and look at it as a place of great potential. Your challenge is to make the best use of disorder, in order to create a superior order there from. Once you have mastered this, the life and career you desire can begin to take shape.

Forbes Reports 151,352 Layoffs for January Itself; Employment Authority Proposes Alternative Job Search Approach

Pasadena, CA — According to a compilation by Forbes recently, there were 151,352 layoffs at America’s 500 largest public companies in the month of January. MORE

"There are always vacancies. Organizations are born, organizations expand, workers become restless, quit, change jobs, move, become ill long-term, or become handicapped, retire, or die. There are always jobs out there waiting to be filled. The fact that you can't find those jobs only means the vacancy hasn't been advertised, or you're not using the right method to find it. When the Internet or job-postings, or agencies, or ads, or resumes, don't work, there are other ways of turning up the job you want. So, if you're coming up 'empty,' you need to change the search method you've been using. ... To speed up your search for one of the jobs that are out there, go after many different organizations, instead of just one or two."

What Our Clients Are Saying
Only 3 days after the mailing-3 interviews! I graduated a little while ago and I was getting kind of desperate for my first job to finally happen - the anticipation was killing me.
- Ben

I sent them out a while ago (probably a week and a half) and there were over 100. I got probably 4 interviews out of the mailings so far, but I haven't found anything yet that fits what I want to do.
- Sarah

You and your service did a very good job. I got a handful of interviews and got a job rather quickly. I only had a few envelopes returned for incorrect address but that could not be helped as they had...
