Experience a Breakthrough by Confronting Your Pain
By: Harrison Barnes

Career Mission's Chief Executive Officer, A. Harrison Barnes discussed the need to face problems head on rather than avoiding them.

A lot many of us carry problems around in life. We all have an incredible number of issues that are tucked away at the back of our minds, making us uncomfortable and holding us back.  The longer we ignore these problems, the more they build up, controlling and governing a large part of what happens to us in our lives.

Most of us hide issues that are uncomfortable for us beneath the surface.  We suppress and avoid them at all costs–pretending they are not there at all.  Harrison believes that your life is probably being controlled to a large extent by the very issues you are avoiding.

When we face our problems everything changes and we experience “breakthrough”–truly life transformative insights, which alters the course of our lives.  When people have these breakthroughs, they end up experiencing more happiness, peace, love and less fear in their lives.  Typically, when people experience breakthroughs there is a massive change that comes over them.  It starts when years of built up tension leaves their faces, and their bodies become more relaxed.  The people look noticeably happier than before.

When most of us are angry or feeling discomfort, we focus on others instead of ourselves.  We are always looking outside of ourselves for the explanation for why we feel uncomfortable and angry.  The focus should be on fixing the problem instead of looking for someone to blame immediately.  Find the source of your pain in your life and confront it.  The sooner you confront your pain and work through it, the faster you will experience a breakthrough and transform your life.

Forbes Reports 151,352 Layoffs for January Itself; Employment Authority Proposes Alternative Job Search Approach

Pasadena, CA According to a compilation by Forbes recently, there were 151,352 layoffs at Americas 500 largest public companies in the month of January. MORE

"There are always vacancies. Organizations are born, organizations expand, workers become restless, quit, change jobs, move, become ill long-term, or become handicapped, retire, or die. There are always jobs out there waiting to be filled. The fact that you can't find those jobs only means the vacancy hasn't been advertised, or you're not using the right method to find it. When the Internet or job-postings, or agencies, or ads, or resumes, don't work, there are other ways of turning up the job you want. So, if you're coming up 'empty,' you need to change the search method you've been using. ... To speed up your search for one of the jobs that are out there, go after many different organizations, instead of just one or two."
